Dan and Jodi, married!

Saturday, I photographed the wedding of Dan and Jodi. It was such a beautiful day and a beautiful ceremony. I really enjoyed getting to know them and their friends better. The ceremony was at English Lutheran and the reception was at the Best Western Midway.

So, I can't tell the story of their wedding without telling about the incident that happened to me. While taking pictures at Pettibone, I, um, was hit in the ear with a frisbee golf frisbee (those hard discs). What a shock! To be honest, it totally hurt. But, we got the pictures and got out of there. A big thanks to the groomsmen for looking out for me. They were ready to fight in my honor, but turns out it was just a girl with some bad aim.
Definitely a night I will never forget. :)

Dan and Jodi are away on their honeymoon, but hopefully they can get a chance to check out these pictures before they get back. I hope you guys have a great trip. Thank you for letting me be a part of your day!

Eric & Lauren, engaged

Saturday, I had an engagement session in Sparta with Eric and Lauren. They grew up in Sparta and went to high school together, so it was only appropriate that we take pictures there. We took pictures by the lake and then headed over to Eric's mom's house. They showed me some spots that they want to take pictures at for their wedding in October, and I can't wait! It should be beautiful colors then (and a beautiful couple!).

On a side note, I stopped at a gas station before I met them and the clerk said "Have a nice day to me." I followed up with, "you too." He said, "No, I can't I'm working." I laughed and said that I was too. I wanted to follow up with, "but I LOVE my job!" I didn't though, but seriously, I was WORKING on Saturday when I took these pictures. How cool is that? :) Thanks for the fun afternoon, guys!

Max Friday

Like magic, now that Max is 7 months, it has become increasingly more difficult to photograph him. He does this now when I put him down.

Also in the last few weeks, I'm really starting to see myself. I still think he looks more like Ryan, but when I look at pictures of myself at this age, there are some spooky similarities. He is becoming more and more of a little boy and less of a baby everyday. It is so fun to see him grow.

Now for something completely different

This month I ventured into a different area of photography - jewelry. I was asked by KQ Jewelry to photograph her collection. She doesn't have a web site right now, but if you are interested in her jewelry, I can give you her contact info.

I rented the 100mm Macro lens, and loved it. I'd very much like to add it to my collection. Here are some of my favorites.

Our own family photo session

Saturday, we had our own family photo session at our house with Krystal Muellenberg a photographer from the Cashton area (click the link to see our sneak peak). Last fall, Krystal contacted me after randomly finding my web site. I am so pleased that she did. She's an awesome photographer and I am very happy that we've met. I have taken hundreds of pictures of Max, but we don't have very many at all with either me or Ryan in the picture and definitely not with us both. I love the pictures so far. I can't wait to see the rest, and I can't wait to order some prints! Thank you, again, Krystal. You rock! :)

Oh, and she previously tagged me. So, I suppose I better fess up some answers.

What was I doing 10 years ago?
Well, I was a senior in high school. I worked at Box Office Video in Viroqua, and was anxiously waiting to get out of Dodge to go to school at Michigan Technological University for Computer Science. Ha! :) I did graduate from MTU, but with a degree in Scientific and Technical Communication instead, and now look at me!

Things on my to-do list
-Add some new products to my web site.
-Send out a mailing to all of my 2008 wedding couples.
-Clean my house is always on my list, but I always manage to fill my time with something else. :) Though having Krystal over last weekend helped a whole lot.
-Get Max to sleep through the night. Blah

Bad Habits
-Still biting my nails
-Not closing the lid on the peanut butter jar (sorry, Ryan)

Places I have lived
Wisconsin
Michigan
Minnesota
New York (for one summer)

Things most people don't know about me
Hmmm, I guess that I stay in my pajamas for most of the day and do almost all of my business from our loveseat in our living room. :)

April and Boyd, engaged

Yesterday's engagement session was extra special. April is an old neighbor and grade school friend of mine. She and her mom found my booth at Wedding World, and we both had small heart attacks when we saw each other. I was so happy when she and Boyd decided to book me for their wedding. April and I had a ballet class together when I was in first grade and she was in kindergarten, and we also rode the same bus to school. We spent lots of time making up dances to Paula Abdul and C&C Music Factory. It was great to meet Boyd and I'm so looking forward to their wedding in October!

The other reason it was special? I finally took that photo by the La Crosse sign! I swear there is ALWAYS a car parked in front of it. April and Boyd even had the perfect colored coats to complete the picture. I have been doing a happy dance for the past 24 hours. I have to say though, it would be more perfect if that tree had blossoms. Oh well, always something. :)
