Max's newborn session

I can't believe Max is almost 3 weeks old! Well, maybe I can. The last few weeks have been challenging and pretty amazing. I've been taking a lot of pictures, but haven't had a chance to work on them until now. Ryan took Max and Freckles for a walk to give me some alone time. I'm actually having a hard time not working on business stuff. I keep telling myself that I'm on maternity leave, but I miss it. So, I've been practicing a lot on Max (while I can, soon he'll probably scream every time I bring out the camera).

It's a boy!

Monday, August 13th at 12:17pm Ryan and I welcomed Max Ryan Brubaker into the world. He weighed in at 9lbs and 1oz and is 21 inches long. He is beautiful and perfect. Both Max and I are doing well.

Thank you to everyone for the emails and flowers and well-wishes. We're very behind on writing/calling back. But, we will get back to you! We're trying to figure everything out right now. :) We feel very lucky and are happy to be able to spend so much time getting to know our son.

40 weeks

This combo reminds me of one of those "which one of these things don't belong," but neither image belongs together!

I've been keeping busy since my last day of work, but with my due date coming up tomorrow and no baby yet, I really wanted to get out today. Things are progressing though with the baby, and I don't want to stray too far from home, just in case. So, I got a decaf coffee and then went grocery shopping. I stocked up on lots of non-perishables to have on hand after the baby is born. While getting the coffee, I noticed this local wedding magazine that is published annually. I need to get an ad in it for next year. I felt sort of silly reading a wedding magazine at the coffee shop, especially since I haven't been wearing my wedding rings for awhile now. No one really seemed to notice though. :)

Keep us in your thoughts; we hope it happens this weekend (if not before).
