Gavin & Brennan
My Sunday session was with two super cute boys, Gavin and Brennan. I used to work with Mom, but you won't see her (or Dad) in any of the pictures. This session was all about the boys. I asked to do the posed shots first while I had their attention, and then we just played.
We met at a campground on Lake Neshonoc in West Salem. It was a great spot for a family session, especially one with two young boys. There were a couple different playgrounds and a beach area. I really lucked out again with the weather. It was a gorgeous fall morning for pretty fall pictures.

Kendra
My second session on Saturday was with Kendra for a senior portrait session. I made it clear that I'm definitely not a senior portrait photographer, but Kendra was looking for something different than the standard studio set up. I was happy to give it a try. She told me that she had a lot of fun, and I did too. I may consider seeking out more senior sessions for those that are looking for something a little different, just like Kendra. I've also been having fun playing with the colors of these photos. I'll be giving her the regular photo, but also some of these jazzed up versions.
We met downtown and found some more alleyways to pose in.
We also got some pretty fall pictures, as well.
One more session from last weekend, stay tuned!

Tim & Sarah, engaged
My first session on Saturday was with Tim and Sarah. I'm shooting their wedding next summer and after their engagement session, I'm very much looking forward to it. They are so cute and so happy together. It sounds like their wedding is going to be a fun day.
For the engagement session, we walked around downtown La Crosse and found lots of little alleyways to pose in.
We also went down to Riverside park for a few pretty fall pictures.
I've really lucked out with the weather this month! Saturday was gorgeous. Who would have thought after a week of rain that Saturday would turn out to be 70s and sunny? I think the photo gods are on my side. ;)

The tangled web part 2
My second session on Saturday was an extended family shoot. One of the three sisters in this family is married to the brother of "my brother." Huh? :) Remember this family and my pretend brother? Small towns are so fun.
This session was a lot of fun. The kids were SO well-behaved, even the little one-year old. We took a lot of formal family poses, but we did have some fun...
And, I just had to show this one because it was this little pumpkin's first birthday.

The tangled web
My first family session on Saturday was with a familiar family, Shawn, Tami, Megan, and Nessa. I know Shawn from my previous place of employment and I know Tami because she used to work with a friend of mine. Get all of that? :)
When I first met this couple, I noticed right away how Shawn lit up when he talked about Tami and his family. I've always thought they obviously love each other a whole lot. I hope I was able to capture some of that feeling in their pictures.

To prove that he doesn't always wear white
Schedule update
Also, I wanted to let you know that I'm booked up for October and quickly filling up for November too. Right now, I'm not planning on taking sessions over the long Thanksgiving weekend. So, if you're interested in Christmas pictures, schedule them now. It will be here before you know it.

Back in the saddle
How could I resist this title? Saturday I had my first session back. It is kicking off a month full of sessions. I'm so excited for all of them. It was a little sad/weird leaving Max, but it was just for a couple hours and he slept the entire time. Ryan didn't even have to feed him. I had so much fun at the session, I hardly had time to miss Max. Though, I did sneak a quick phone call home during a down time. :)
Ryan has been teasing me about this session ever since I booked it. I'm a bit scared of horses. I think they are beautiful, but they are a little bit scary too. Good thing Cassie was very tame. I wasn't scared at all during the session. Tori, her owner, was the perfect little model. Can you believe she is 12 years old? These could be senior pictures.
I LOVED this location. I think I have a soft spot for farms. There are so many great places to shoot.
Even got one of Mom.
